Kids, don’t try this at home. Only a trained professional can pull a stunt like this and survive. You have been warned. :-) Yesterday I ordered two batches of PCB from PCBcart – 200 pcs of my QuarterK Shield and 100 pcs of a smaller board for a game controller for the QuarterK. The Game [...]

QuarterK @ HackerspaceKL

Every now & then I drop by my local Hackerspace. I must admit that I’m not there as often as I should since I don’t have a car yet and it’s a hassle to get my lazy ass out of the gated community I live in and flag down a taxi on the street to get [...]

The little QuarterK in the big world

I’ve seen that  John at Tronicsstuff is doing a lot of kit reviews and is really involved in the Open Source Hardware/Software community  so I was thinking that he might be the perfect “victim” to  preview one of the QuarterK kits to iron out any kinks before I order a production run of them. John [...]

RIP my dear Dragon

My almost brand new AVR Dragon Programmer/Debugger is dead :-( It seems like the old saying of Low cost == Crappy quality is true.

The QuarterK Shield is born

I just got the PCB's for the beta versions of my QuarterK shield back from the manufacturer. It turned out to be a successful design with just some minor things that I'll fix before ordering a real production batch of the boards.

Small Room Labs

Small Room Labs is in the beginnings of starting a small business that's creating Open Sourced electronics kits. To read more about the products see my Blog or Forum and please do follow me on Twitter.

The first product from SRL is the QuarterK shield for the Arduino. It's a shield with a total of 256 small LEDs that can be controlled by the Arduino. The shield also have a game controller port on it so you can write games for the QuarterK.

A small prototype batch of the QuarterK have been tested by a number of beta testers for some weeks now and have resulted in some minor enhancements for the first production run of 200 units that will be ready for delivery some time around October 10th.
